Held during February 2014 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, the first edition of the Ghana Geospatial Forum was successful in bringing together professionals, service providers, researchers, technology users, policy makers and representatives from the industry on a common platform and chart out the direction for the further expansion and growth of geospatial technology in the Ghana and west Africa. The Forum proved to be a hub for numerous invaluable discussions. While the policy makers brought forward their expectations from the technology providers, the industry too deliberated upon the reasons behind the region’s relatively slow implementation of latest technology available elsewhere in the world.
In order to make sure that the momentum gained during last year’s conference is not lost, Geospatial Media and Communications is taking another initiative in the region by organising the Ghana Geospatial Forum 2015, the second National Conference and Exhibition, on 3-4 March 2015 in Accra. Apart from reflecting upon the outcomes and achievements of last year’s conference, the 2015 Ghana Geospatial Forum will also delve into several new topics and will feature a celebrated line-up of speakers from around the region.
